The house was known as Stephens Stores until the early 1990’s and served the villagers as a general store and wholesale wine cellar for over 100 years. It has an unusual jetty bay Venetian window on the first floor and the 19th century terracotta plaques on the front wall are Italian and said to be Romeo and Juliet. |

The living room is spacious and light and has two
galleried openings to the lower floor, one of which contains the stairs.
The room
is decorated in warm terracotta and yellow and is the perfect spot for
some rest and relaxation. There is a colour television, combined video and
DVD player, radio, tape and CD
player and a good
selection of books. The wooden pillars are said to have come from a ship.
The entrance hall and a toilet are also on this floor. |

The kitchen and dining area are on the lower floor.
The kitchen has a gas hob, double electric oven, microwave, fridge with
small freezer compartment, dishwasher and a washing machine and separate
tumble dryer. The
kitchen is well equipped and if we have forgotten anything just let us
know! The old wine storage bins have been retained as a feature and
these, with the galleried openings providing natural light, and brick
arches make the kitchen and dining area very attractive. |

On the first floor is the master bedroom with the large bay window and half-barrelled ceiling. It has a king-size bed with duvet and Egyptian cotton sheets and is decorated in a rich mix of deep red and gold. There is a Z bed which can be put in the main bedroom to accommodate an extra child. A hairdryer is provided. The mahogany wardrobe doors are original and match the curved ceiling. It is nice to sit in the Venetian window and watch village life go by or to count how many people stop and look at the house which is a feature of the village.

Troy House is pet free and the curved stairs may not be suitable for less able guests. Smoking Policy: We ask our guests, please, to smoke out of doors.
